One Sheet Wonder with Hydrangea Haven (2024)

One Sheet Wonder with Hydrangea Haven (1)

There are so many ways to use all the beautiful Designer Papers that we all seem to collect (hoard?)! One of the more efficient ways is to use a 12″ x 12″ piece cut into various shapes – using all of it up to make several cards. Here I have used the basic one-sheet wonder pattern by LeeAnn Gref and used one of the colorful pieces of the Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper.

The great thing about a one-sheet wonder pattern is that once you have trimmed the DSP and adhered it to your card fronts, you can keep it simple and just put on a greeting, or make the cards as elaborate as you want with various embellishments.

Here is the template I used to cut the 12″ x 12″ DSP.

For all of my cards, I paired the DSP with cardstock in one or more of the following colors – Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, Old Olive, and of course, Basic White. All of the card bases are 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. Some of the cards are in the “portrait” mode and some are in the “landscape” mode – the choice is yours.

For the first two cards, I used the diagonally cut DSP. I stamped the plain side of the Old Olive cardstock with the small leaves in Old Olive ink, and the small flowers with Highland Heather ink on the Highland Heather cardstock. I added a 1/2″ strip of Gorgeous Grape cardstock to delineate the difference between the cardstock and the DSP. To embellish the cards, I stamped sentiments with Gorgeous Grape ink and cropped them with Story Label punch or the die from the Tasteful Labels. I also added some cropped leaves from Old Olive cardstock for one of the cards and some Pastel Pearls on the other card.

These two cards are made with the partially diagonally cut DSP. One of them uses a third partially cut piece, and the other uses Basic White cardstock stamped with small flowers in Highland Heather ink. Embellishments are a sentiment stamped in Gorgeous Grape cropped with the Story Label punch, a flower bouquet fussy cut from another piece of DSP, and a hydrangea flower stamped and cropped from the Hydrangea Haven Bundle. I also added an additional 1/2″ strip of Old Olive cardstock to one of the cards.

These two cards are very similar but look totally different when the cardstock colors are switched. The cardstock mats behind the DSP are 4 1/2″ x 3″. Sentiments are stamped with Gorgeous Grape ink and cropped with the Double Oval punch set. I also added some leaves stamped with Old Olive ink and a Pastel Pearl to one of the cards. I stamped the Old Olive card base with Highland Heather ink and the small flower stamp before adding the other materials.

Card #7 uses two pieces of DSP, reversing the side for the narrow piece, then using a 3/8″ strip of Basic White cardstock to cover the seam. I stamped and cropped a hydrangea flower and added a small bow made with Gorgeous Grape Sheer ribbon to the card front. (NOTE: My puppy embellished the lower right corner of this card by chewing on it for the 15 seconds that I had my back turned! You may want to forgo this embellishment!)

For card #8, I added a 5/8″ strip of Gorgeous Grape cardstock to the diagonal edge of the DSP before adhering it to a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″piece of Basic White cardstock, which has been stamped with the small flower image using Highland Heather ink. I stamped the small “for you” with Gorgeous Grape ink and cropped it with the tiny label die, then tied it around a stamped and cropped hydrangea flower with Basic White Baker’s Twine.

For Card #9, I added a 5/8″ strip of Gorgeous Grape cardstock to the DSP before adhering it to the Highland Heather card base. The sentiment is stamped with Gorgeous Grape ink directly onto the card base as well.

For card #10, I used the three wide strips of DSP adhered directly to the Gorgeous Grape card front. It’s embellished with a flower bouquet fussy cut from another piece of DSP and a sentiment stamped with Gorgeous Grape ink and cropped with the Story Label Punch. I added a Pastel Pearl too!

One Sheet Wonder with Hydrangea Haven (8)

I used the extra-large strip of DSP and cut it into 1/2″ strips to decorate the inside of some of the cards. For some of the other cards, I stamped a sentiment or the small flower image or leaf image.

For the envelopes, I also stamped the lower-left corner with either the small flower image or leaf image.

As I said before, once you have the Designer Paper cut to the different sizes, you can use your creativity to finish decorating the cards however you like – keep it simple or use all the embellishments you want.

This basic template can be used for any of your favorite Designer Papers. It’s a great way to use up the paper, and it enables you to make a bunch of cards rather quickly. You could even use this idea to make a lot of Christmas cards quickly! Do you want a unique hostess gift? A stack of all-occasion cards would certainly fit the bill. A stack of cards would also be a great little gift for prizes at a shower or game night with friends.

I hope you enjoy these ideas. Don’t forget to check my Facebook group for more ideas, tips, and videos!
